Doubled Fun and a New Link

We had an especially nice day at quilting yesterday.  It was our annual Christmas potluck lunch which tends to go on a bit longer than our usual meals.  Each year everyone brings an edible something which is shared with everyone else.  We have done this long enough that certain items are expected.  One lady always brings her lovely and delicious salad, I contribute home made buns (as well as, this year, our smoked ham).  Another always adds a dessert.  Because we had two new members this year plus another who came for the first time that day, we also had some  additions; a lovely mixed salad, home made lasagna.  The food is wonderful but what makes the day special is the same thing that makes all other Monday's special; the women.
Nine individual, strong minded ladies all bound by a common interest; the love of quilting.  I hope that you also are able to share your interest with someone else.  the old say, a problem shared is a problem divided is true.  So true is pleasure shared is a pleasure doubled.

I have a new link for you.  If you have a problem determining how much fabric is needed for backing, binding or a specific number of strips or squares, you can download  free charts courtesy of Victoriana Quilt Designs.  www.victorianaquiltdesigns.com.  Scroll down to the bottom on the page and you will see a heading for the calculators. She has a lot of other nifty items on the site so do a bit of browsing before getting your downloads. Sign up for her newsletter for even greater benefits.

Blessings,

  2. I too just saw your blog and plan on coming back to it. As a christian quilter I felt a instant connection, isn't it neat how God does that even tho we are thousands of miles apart.
