I had another lovely day yesterday celebrating the birthday of a friend. We went to a community about an hour north where a quilt shop had just opened. Fibre Chicks turned out to have a lot more products that I thought it might as well as offering classes and long arm quilting. I bought some fabric, thread and a really cute hedgehog pattern which will be great as a scrappy.
After that, we went to a restaurant that had been recommended and had a very satisfying lunch. As we were finishing that, it was time to give the gifts. Our birthday girl was pleased with our choices. We had spotted a recycle (send hand) store near the restaurant which raised money for animal shelters. As we are all animal lovers we walked to the store only to find it closed on Thursdays which was a bit annoying.
I was telling husband about the day and he decided we should take a trip there some day. We have been to the community before as they have a livestock auction and we have added some hens to our flock. However, we haven't been to the main street. Although it is a small community, it does have a lot of places worth exploring.
The sun is shining today and it is warm enough to go out with just a light jacket. Hubby is boiling maple sap and enjoying the fresh air. I am working on some small projects trying to catch up with doing some things like hemming a friends pants and finishing aprons for the Legion president.
Heidi dog and I went for a walk. The spring peepers are announcing their presence as are a number of owls. Sounds like spring is here.
